One of the pillars on which Calaf Grup's business strategy is based is internationalization. This is a prudent and progressive process adapted to the possibilities of the company, which started in 2012 firm and determined. The business group is proposed to get in a medium term between 10 and 20% of its annual turnover.

The strategic plan defines three different lines in terms of internationalization: the strict export business, such as machinery manufacturing; specialized construction medium volume contracts which are a mix of construction and export, and implementation through partnerships with other Catalan companies to pool knowledge, technical and financial capabilities and share risks.

On the basis of these general approaches, first we must mention the waste treatment area, which includes the construction of waste treatment plants as well as the manufacturing of glass and plastic optical sorting machine vision systems. In this area, the Group is present in Portugal, Italy, Brazil and the United States. Another area that has been internationalized is dedicated to the treatment and purification equipment, which the group sells through its own brand DAGA. In this area, Calaf Grup has performances in countries such as Tunisia and Mexico. The group has also chosen internationalization for the design, manufacture and service of chain trenchers. Through Nextrencher Barcelona brand it has been active in Belgium, France and Dubai.

Calaf Grup has also opted for the international presence through affiliated companies. Thus, through the company Apex Capital, with a Peruvian partner, promotes infrastructure and facilities of public interest in Peru, specifically through the awarding of two municipal markets for street vendors in the city of Trujillo. GERCA, Group of Companies for Rehabilitation Catalonia-Algeria, takes actions in historical monuments in Algeria. Currently GERCA is developing the rehabilitation of the Palace of the Beys at the Citadelle of Algiers, as well as the rehabilitation of several building facades in the city of Constantine. Finally, through Constcat Internacional, a grouping of five Catalan companies involved in the implementation of infrastructure works in Colombia.
